Recognition |

The
Distance Education Council accords recognition to the Universities /
Institutions to offer programmes through Distance Mode and it is for the
Statutory bodies of the Universities / Institutions concerned to decide
what programmes to be offered through distance mode. For technical /
professional programmes the Universities / Institutions are expected to
seek approval from the Apex bodies like AICTE, NCTE, etc. wherever it is
required. |

Territorial
Jurisdiction |

The
Distance Education Council maintains that the Territorial Jurisdiction of
the Universities / Institutions for offering programmes through Distance
Mode will be governed by the Acts & Statutes of the concerned
Universities / Institutions. |

Approval
of Study Centres |
|
The
Distance Education Council maintains that the Universities / Institutions
can have study centers as per their Acts and Statutes. However, DEC
insists that Study Centers can not be franchised. Information on Study
Centres will be available with the concerned Universities / Institutions. |
